South African tournament organizer Mettlestate continues to deliver weekly, one-day Cash Cups for local gamers to enjoy…and this week is no different. Let’s jump straight into the most important details so South African esports fans don’t miss out on any of the action.
Cash Cups from Mettlestate this week
From 17 to 23 February 2025, there are, by our count, five (5) Mettlestate Cash Cups for local gamers to compete in, thanks to the tournament organizer and sponsor UrbanX. Let’s dive in so you can mark those calendars and set those alarms with confidence.

- EA FC Mobile Cup – 1v1 tournament starting on Monday, 17 February 2025, at 19:30.
- Garena Free Fire Cup – Solos battle royale tournament starting on Tuesday, 18 February 2025, at 19:30.
- Chess Cup – 1v1 tournament starting on Wednesday, 19 February 2025, at 19:30.
- Marvel Rivals Cup – 2v2 tournament starting on Thursday, 20 February 2025, at 19:30.
- Squad Busters Cup – Solos battle royale tournament starting on Saturday, 22 February 2025, at 14:00.
As is tradition, registration for these Cash Cups closes about two hours before the events begin, with check-in during the hour before. All tournaments above are free to enter and feature a base prize pool of R1,000, which increases to R2,000 depending on the players’ VIP status.
Prize pool distribution:
- 1st place: R500 (R1,000 with VIP)
- 2nd place: R300 (R600 with VIP)
- 3rd place: R200 (R400 with VIP)
