South African tournament organizer Mettlestate isn’t slowing down at all in February 2025, with a bunch of new Cash Cups for local gamers to enjoy. Mettlestate Cash Cups this week
By our count, there are five of these one-day events to participate in this week, thanks to Mettlestate and UrbanX. There’s a nice variety, from Rocket League to Valorant. The theme seems to be “cuples” just in time for Valentine’s Day, so go enjoy esports!

- League of Legends Cuples – 2v2 tournament starting on Monday, 10 February 2025, at 19:30.
- Clash Royale Cuples – 1v1 tournament starting on Tuesday, 11 February 2025, at 19:30.
- Fortnite Cuples – Duos battle royale tournament starting on Wednesday, 12 February 2025, at 19:30.
- Rocket League Cuples – 2v2 tournament starting on Thursday, 13 February 2025, at 19:30.
- Valorant Cuples – 2v2 tournament starting on Saturday, 15 February 2025, at 14:00.
Registration for these Cash Cups closes about two hours before the events begin, with check-in during the hour before. All tournaments above are free to enter and feature a base prize pool of R1,000, which increases to R2,000 depending on the players’ VIP status.
Prize pool distribution:
- 1st place: R500 (R1,000 with VIP)
- 2nd place: R300 (R600 with VIP)
- 3rd place: R200 (R400 with VIP)
