Free Fire Grandmasters Series S1 with R10,000 prize pool

South African tournament organizer Mettlestate has a lot going on, with various leagues starting up this month. But Mettlestate is not done, as they have announced the Free Fire Grandmasters Series Season 1, with a prize pool of R10,000, for local gamers to compete in. Here’s what you need to know.

Free Fire Grandmasters Series details

Mettlestate calls on local Free Fire players on social media, exclaiming: “Heroes, choose your loadout wisely.”

The Free Fire Grandmasters Series is completely free to enter. You can head on over to the registration page, and check out the event’s landing page on the Mettlestate website.

This is a quads battle royale tournament. Registrations close on Sunday, 19 March 2023. The Group Stage will be played between 20 March and 5 April 2023. The grand finals of the tournament will be on 12 April 2023. Spots are limited, with 64 teams in total.

Prize pool distribution:
  • 1st place – R5,000
  • 2nd place – R3,000
  • 3rd place – R2,000

Group Stages:
  • Registrations for the group stages open 6th March and close 19th March
  • Group stages will be played between 20th March and 5 April
  • All participants will be placed into separate groups.
  • An admin will host the lobbies.
  • Codes will be shared in the respective WhatsApp groups.  
Playoffs:
  • The top participants from group stages will be placed into one of two leaderboards. 
  • The top participants from each leaderboard will placed into the final’s leaderboard. 
Grand Finals:
  • The final participants will play in a single final lobby. 
  • The grands finals will be streamed to Twitch and potentially more platforms.
  • Final participants will then play 4 matches to determine the grand champion(s)
