Fortnite Knysna Esports Cup with R20,000 prize pool announced

South African tournament organizer Elite Pro Series, known for its great collab tournaments such as the Punishers Birthday cup and the bi-weekly NiBBLE Trios series, has announced the Knysna Esports Cup. The first-ever Knysna Esports Cup features a huge prize pool of R20,000. Here’s what we know so far.

Knysna Esports Cup details

The tournament will be played during July. This is an online event and will be streamed live from the Knysna Oyster Festival 2021 via the Lofts Boutique Hotel. Therefore, if you are in the area, you can watch the tournament with some local Fortnite esports fans.

A description of the live stream via the event page on the Knysna Oyster Festival website explains:

“The live streams will be hosted by South African esports influencers and feature chats with a diverse group of Fortnite players and industry experts. These topics will cover some industry commonly asked questions, offer tips to improve your game as well as introduce the types of career opportunities offered within the esports industry.”

Knysna Esports Cup schedule:
  • Qualifiers – 5 to 10 July 2021
  • Semi-finals – 14 to 15 July 2021
  • Finals – 16 July 2021

Registration is free, and you can head on over the first qualifier’s page on the Elite Pro Series website to enter your team right now. The tournament is open to PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch gamers.

Points distribution for the qualifiers:
  • Victory Royale: 25 Points
  • 2nd place: 21 Points
  • 3rd place: 19 Points
  • 4th to 17th place: 1 Point Each
  • Each Elimination: 1 Point

As mentioned at the start of this article, there’s an R20,000 prize pool to fight for. This is a Trios tournament, so bring two friends along in your quest to qualify.
