South Korea wins Overwatch World Cup 2026
The biggest esports event at BlizzCon 2026 had to be the Overwatch World Cup (OWWC) 2026, where the 16 best national teams duked it out for glory.
In the Group Stage, the United States topped Group A, followed by Sweden in 2nd place. Group B saw Saudi Arabia claim first place, followed by Australia in second. In Group C, Germany came out on top, with Spain hot on their heels. France took charge in Group D, with South Korea coming in 2nd.
When it came time for the Playoffs Stage, South Korea took no prisoners. First, they smashed United States 3-0, then beat France in a dramatic reverse-sweep comeback to win 3-2 to earn a spot in the Grand Final.
In the Grand Final, Saudi Arabia drew first blood, but South Korea responded with absolute vigor to claim the trophy with a 4-1 score. Congratulations to South Korea for winning the Overwatch World Cup 2026.
