Your guide to BLAST Open Porto 2026
Just as the EWC 2026 mega-event finished up with Team Spirit taking home the crown in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), we must get ready for another huge event. BLAST Open Porto 2026 is an exciting tournament starting this week, and with our no-nonsense guide, you don’t have to miss a second of the action.
BLAST Open Porto 2026 details
BLAST Open Porto 2026 starts this week, running from 26 August to 6 September 2026. Teams are competing for their share of the $1.1 million prize pool. That’s roughly R17.6 million at the current exchange rate.
The tournament kicks off with the Group Stage, taking place at the BLAST Studios venue in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the Group Stage, teams will be split into two groups of eight teams each and fight their way through GSL-style double-elimination brackets.
The top four per group (eight total) will compete in the Playoffs Stage, taking place in front of a crowd at the Super Bock Arena venue in Porto, Portugal. Hence the name of the event. In the Playoffs Stage, the final eight teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket, where the Grand Final is BO5, and the rest of the matches are BO3.
