Your guide to the EWC 2026 Apex Legends event

Esports fans who love Battle Royale are in for a treat this weekend, with the Apex Legends tournament at the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 mega-event taking place in Paris, France. Here’s what you must know so you don’t miss out on any of the high-octane action.

Apex Legends EWC 2026 Event Details

Running from 7 to 11 July 2026, the Apex Legends EWC 2026 event is taking place live on LAN at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris, France.

There are a total of 40 Trios teams competing in the Battle Royale tournament, which serves as an important part of the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS). Teams are fighting for their share of the massive $2 million prize pool. That’s roughly R32.5 million at the current exchange rate. The tournament is also called the ALGS 2026 Split 1 Playoffs.

The action begins with a Group Stage, with 40 teams split into four groups of 10 teams each, competing in a Round-Robin format. The top 14 teams of the stage will advance to the Finals, while the 15th – 34th teams of the stage will advance to the Survivor Stage, and the bottom 6 teams get eliminated.

20 teams will duke it out in a series of 10 games during the Survivor Stage, with the top six earning spots in the Finals, while the rest are eliminated. In the Finals, the best 20 teams will compete in a Match Point Format. The first team to score 50 points and then secure a 1st-place finish is crowned the winner.
