The pagentry…the absolute cinema! That’s what Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans got to experience at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Here’s how things went down in the Playoffs Stage of the Major, in front of a huge crowd.

It was an incredible event, featuring massive upsets, including the fall of Team Falcons in Stage 2, the decimation of Team Spirit by MOUZ, and a dark horse making it all the way to the grand final. After three grueling stages of competition, eight teams made it through to the BLAST.tv Austin Major Playoffs Stage, featuring a single-elimination bracket, where all matches are best-of-three.

In the Quarterfinals, Natus Vincere was put to rest by Team Vitality in a clean 2-0 affair, while MOUZ managed to reverse-sweep Team Spirit. On the other side of the bracket, The MongolZ took down the crowd favorite, FaZe Clan, and paiN Gaming pulled off a reverse-sweep against FURIA in the Brazilian derby.

MOUZ couldn’t overcome the immovable object that is Team Vitality in the Semifinals, losing 2-1 after a dramatic match that went the distance. The MongolZ took out paiN Gaming, making it look easy with a clean 2-0 to earn a spot in the Grand Final.

In the BLAST.tv Austin Major Grand Final, Team Vitality was the clear favorite, but The MongolZ, with the crowd behind them, won Mirage 13-5. Despite a devastating loss on Mirage, Team Vitality bounced back with incredible vigor. They Dust2 with a 13-5 score, and Inferno with a score of 13-6, to become the BLAST.tv Austin Major champions.
