As the dust settles over Comic Con Cape Town, things are getting back to normal, and what’s more normal than a batch of fresh Cash Cups from South African tournament organizer Mettlestate? Nothing! Let’s take a look at the most important details so you don’t miss any action.
Cash Cups from Mettlestate this week
By our count, there are five Cash Cups for local gamers to enjoy this week, thanks to Mettlestate and sponsors PCBuilder and ASUS. The events take place on active days (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday) and offer a variety of fun esports to compete in.

- eFootball Cup – 1v1 tournament starting on Monday, 5 May 2025, at 19:30.
- Marvel Rivals Cup – 2v2 tournament starting on Tuesday, 6 May 2025, at 19:30.
- Squad Busters Cup – Solo Battle Royale tournament starting on Wednesday, 7 May 2025, at 19:30.
- COD Mobile Cup – Duos Battle Royale tournament starting on Thursday, 8 May 2025, at 19:30.
- Pokemon Pocket Cup – 1v1 tournament starting on Saturday, 10 May 2025, at 19:30.
Registration for these Cash Cups closes about two hours before the events begin, with check-in during the hour before. All tournaments above are free to enter and feature a base prize pool of R1,000, which increases to R2,000 depending on participants’ Premium (VIP) status.
Prize pool distribution:
- 1st place: R500 (R1,000 with VIP)
- 2nd place: R300 (R600 with VIP)
- 3rd place: R200 (R400 with VIP)
