The International 2022 Finals weekend – Only four remain
The biggest annual Dota 2 esports event, The International 2022, concludes this weekend. The finals weekend will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in front of a crowd, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Here’s what you need to know about the finals weekend for The International 2022.
TI 2022 Finals Weekend
20 teams competed in The International 2022, and only four remain with a shot to lift the Aegis of Champions. The four remaining teams compete for their share of the massive prize pool.
The International 2022’s prize pool sits at nearly $18 million. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R332 million.
Let’s look at the matchups and schedule for The International 2022’s final weekend below. Please note that all times are in SAST.
- Team Secret vs Tundra Esports – 29 October at 06:00.
- Team Liquid vs Team Aster – 29 October at 09:00.
- Lower-bracket finals – 30 October at 06:00.
- Grand finals – 30 October at 10:30.
The first three remaining matches are best-of-three, while the grand final is a best-of-five slugfest which will take place between two of the four teams still standing.
If Team Secret, led by the legendary Clement “Puppey” Ivanov can make it to the grand finals, this will be the highest the organization has ever made in a TI, having finished third in 2021. Interestingly, only Team Liquid has a chance to become a repeat TI winner as an organization.
