The month of August is packed with top-tier Valorant esports content for fans to consume, thanks to the final event of the VCT season, Valorant Champions 2024! Let’s dive into all the most important details so you don’t miss out on any of the awesome action.

Valorant Champions 2024 details

Valorant Champions 2024 is the crowing event of the VCT season and takes place in South Korea, with most of the event at the COEX Artium in Seoul and the top four at the INSPIRE Arena in Incheon.

The best 16 teams in the world will compete for their share of the $2,250,000 prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R41 million.

The action begins on 1 August with the Group Stage. The Group Stage features four double-elimination format GSL-style groups with four teams each, where all matches are best-of-three.

Group A teams:

  • Fnatic
  • DRX
  • KRÜ Esports
  • Bilibili Gaming

Group B teams: 

  • Gen.G Esports
  • FunPlus Phoenix
  • Team Heretics
  • Sentinels

Group C teams:

  • Leviatán
  • Team Vitality
  • Trace Esports
  • Talon Esports

Group D teams:

  • EDward Gaming
  • G2 Esports
  • Paper Rex
  • FUT Esports

When the dust settles on 11 August, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs stage. In the Playoffs stage, we’ll see a double-elimination bracket format, where most matches are best-of-three, except for the lower bracket final and the grand final, which are both best-of-five.
