Tekken World Tour Finals details
Before we get started with the Tekken World Tour Finals 2022 details, first check out the awesome tweet from Bandai Namco Esports, featuring South African Callym Beukes!
The tweet reads: “The player base in Africa has come full throttle during the #TWT2022! Based in South Africa, Callym Beukes wants to show his region that esports can be a lifelong endeavor to those who pursue competitive gaming. With Global Finals approaching, this is his time to shine!
The tournament features 24 Tekken 7 players in total. 21 of these players, including South African Callym Beukes, have qualified via their respective Regional Finals. The final three slots are for those who make it to the top of the Last Chance Qualifier, to take place at the main event’s venue.
The Tekken World Tour Finals 2022 takes place in the Netherlands at Theater Amsterdam. There’s a total prize pool of $100,000 to fight for. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R1.7 million. The event takes place on 4 and 5 February 2023, where a world champion will be crowned.
The group stage will feature four groups of six players each, with a single round-robin format. All matches are best-of-three, and the top two players advance to the Final Bracket. Winners of each group go to the Winners Side, while the runners-up advance to the Losers Side. The rest are eliminated.
The final bracket will feature a double-elimination format. Most matches are best-of-three, except for the losers finals, the winners finals, and the Grand Finals, which are all best-of-five.
You can catch all the action and show your support for Callym Beukes, on the official Tekken Twitch channel.
We at Esports Central would like to wish the Goliath Gaming star all the best of luck! Win or lose, we are sure Callym will make us proud!
