Red Bull Kumite 2023 in South Africa next month

With Street Fighter 6 out now, we’ve got some exciting news to share with our readers. Red Bull Kumite, the prestigious fighting game invitational tournament, is coming to South Africa alongside some of the best players in the world!

From 1 to 2 July 2023, we will see the Red Bull Kumite event take place in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. This is an invitational tournament, with Goliath Gaming’s Jabhi “JabhiM” Mabuza in attendance. A total of 16 players will compete for their share of the $50,000 prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s nearly R1 million!

Red Bull announces:

“Attention fighting game fans! Red Bull Kumite returns this July, this time heading down to South Africa. Held since 2015, the fighting game tournament is heading to the southernmost tip of Africa for the very first time.

Since the original Red Bull Kumite, the event has been home to exciting match-ups and the very best Street Fighter players from around the globe – and the next instalment, the first to be played on the newly released Street Fighter 6, is unmissable.”

You can get a spectator ticket at Computicket, with general entry costing R100, and R450 for the Red Bull Hospitality ticket. The event will take place at the University Of Pretoria: Rembrandt Hall. Stay tuned at ESC, as we will bring you a full viewer’s guide closer to the event.

It is important to note that you could join the Last Chance Qualifier and take a shot at becoming the 16th player at Red Bull Kumite 2023.
