Mettlestate Cash Cups this week | 13 to 19 January 2025

Hello and welcome back, readers! We are kicking things off with a classic: our Monday look at the Cash Cup from South African tournament organizer Mettlestate! There are a handful of cash cups for local gamers to enjoy, so let’s jump straight in and discuss the essential details.

Cash Cups from Mettlestate this week

Thanks to sponsors PnP ASAP and UrbanX, there are five Cash Cups from Mettlestate for local gamers to compete in this week. At the time of writing, there seem to be three days of competition. Check out the details below.

Please note: As always, the information about Mettlestate’s Cash Cups was sourced via the Mettlestate event page. All times in the list below are in SAST.

• Clash of Clans Cup – 1v1 tournament starting Monday, 13 January 2025, at 19:30.
• EA FC 25 Next-Gen Cup – 1v1 tournament starting Monday, 13 January 2025, at 19:30.
• Fortnite Cup – Duos battle royale tournament starting Tuesday, 14 January 2025, at 19:30.
• Chess Cup – 1v1 tournament starting Thursday, 16 January 2025, at 19:30.
• Clash Royale Cup – 1v1 tournament starting Saturday, 18 January 2025, at 14:00.

For those who don’t know yet, registration for these Cash Cups closes about two hours before the events begin, with check-in during the hour before. All tournaments above are free to enter and feature a base prize pool of R1,000, which increases to R2,000 depending on the players’ VIP status.

Prize pool distribution:

• 1st place: R500 (R1,000 with VIP)
• 2nd place: R300 (R600 with VIP)
• 3rd place: R200 (R400 with VIP)
