Team Liquid smacked down Chinese squad Xtreme Gaming with a 2-0, then Cloud9 with a 2-0, and last year’s runners-up, Gaimin Gladiators, with another clean 2-0 victory.
Gaimin Gladiators started their Playoffs Stage run by reverse-sweeping Nouns 2-1 and then beating Tundra Esports 2-0 before falling to Team Liquid. The squad then recovered by reverse-sweeping Tundra Esports 2-1 in the lower bracket to claim a spot in the Grand Final.
In the Grand Final of The International 2024, we saw one of the most dominating performances ever in the annual event. Team Liquid simply crushed Gaimin Gladiators 3-0 to lift the Aegis of Champions, showing absolutely no mercy. Team Liquid has become one of the few organizations that won two Aegis of Champions, as a different set of players under the Team Liquid banner won The International 2017.
A big congratulations goes out to Team Liquid for winning The International 2024 and the first-place prize of $1,162,504. Gaimin Gladiators limps away with $361,673 and their second runner-up finish in a row. Devastating!
