New Deadlock Hero Solomon: Weapon & Abilities
The Deadlock community has voted, and another new hero entered The Cursed Apple. In case you didn’t know, as part of the massive City Never Sleeps update, Valve is doing a staggered release of the update’s six heroes, based on votes from the community in-game.
The newest addition is Solomon, the grandmaster tactician who treats every skirmish in Deadlock like a lethal game of chess. Before we get to the ability details and weapon stats, let’s first check out a lore description to get the blood flowing:
“There’s a lot you can learn from losing to a master. While others brawl blindly in the alleys of New York, Solomon calculates every move three turns ahead. He navigates the battlefield like a chessboard, setting up bishops to restrict enemy sightlines, reinforcing allies like knights, and crushing flanks with his rooks. By the time his opponents realize they are trapped in his web, the queen has already descended—and there is no escaping checkmate.”
Now, let’s dive into the details, starting with Solomon’s weapon in Deadlock.
Solomon’s Weapon
Solomon’s primary weapon delivers methodical, heavy-hitting precision:
- Damage: 30 damage per bullet
- Magazine: 8 rounds
- Reload Time: 3.0 seconds
- Movement Speed & Stamina: 6.7 m/s with 2 base stamina points
Deadlock Solomon Abilities Explained
Check out the list of abilities and ultimate for Solomon in Deadlock outlined below, with official descriptions.
- Setup Bishop – Create a bishop that remains in place indefinitely.
- Move (Right Mouse Button): Moves the bishop, applying a fading slow and dealing spirit damage to enemies it passes through. After a delay, it activates diagonal squares that deal additional spirit damage when stepped on.
- Reactivate: Recall all bishops and end the ability.(Cooldown: 12s | Range: 20m | Move Distance: 12m | Slow: -30% fading for 3s | Impact Damage: 70 | Square Damage: 25)
- Kingside Knight – Promote an ally to be a knight, granting bonus stamina and a protective barrier for a duration. If self-cast, you develop yourself as the king instead, granting double the barrier but no stamina.
- Move (Right Mouse Button): Moves the piece (7m for king, 13m for knight), rendering the target invulnerable during travel before landing.(Cooldown: 25s | Range: 28m | Barrier: 80 | Buff Duration: 7s)
- Rook Battery – Release a pair of rooks that travel forward, dealing spirit damage and applying an immobilize to targets hit. If the rooks hit a wall, they reflect back in the opposite direction.
- Reactivate: Split the rooks perpendicularly mid-flight to alter their trajectory.(Cooldown: 33s | Damage: 50 | Immobilize: 1s | Base Wall Reflects: 1)
- Develop Queen (Ultimate) – Summon a queen that crashes down on a target area, dealing spirit damage. After a brief delay, the queen releases squares in straight lines that deal damage again and stun enemies caught within.
- Move (Right Mouse Button): The queen leaps to a new target location, repeating the impact and line effects (up to 2 additional moves).
- Reactivate: Recall the queen early, ending the ability.(Cooldown: 210s | Range: 30m | Damage: 120 | Stun Duration: 1.25s)
