rAge and Mettlestate joins forces

rAge has long been one of the most exciting, gigantic gaming-centric events in the country. It’s something every gamer should attend at least a few times, filled with esports and casual competitions, great food, entertainment, and a massive LAN.

That’s why I’m excited to report (it’s a bit late, I know) about South African tournament organizer Mettlestate joining forces with rAge to “transform one of South Africa’s most iconic gaming events into a fully immersive festival celebrating gaming, esports, technology and digital culture.”

The announcement notes that this is a “new era” for rAge. Mettlestate and rAge are reimagining what a gaming event can be by creating a festival that reflects the way audiences experience gaming today.

In the announcement, Managing Director of Mettlestate, Barry Louzada, said that: “This isn’t simply another edition of rAge; it is a bold reinvention of what a gaming event can be. Every part of the experience has been reimagined to reflect how gaming culture has evolved. Today’s gamers don’t just play games. They also watch esports, follow creators, build communities, embrace technology, celebrate cosplay, create content and experience gaming as a culture that extends far beyond the screen. rAge 2026 has been built around that culture.“

I, for one, cannot wait to see how rAge 2026 turns out. For those who don’t know, the event takes place from 27 to 29 November 2026 at Fourways Mall in Sandton, Gauteng. Check out the official page for more details.
