IEM Cologne Major 2026 results & highlights video
Since the start of June, Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans watched on as the best teams in the world competed in the first Major Championship of the year.
Thousands converged on the LANXESS Arena in Germany to witness the Playoffs Stage of IEM Cologne Major 2026, also known as the Cathedral of Counter-Strike, and the event exceeded expectations. Here’s how it all went down.
Team Falcons wins IEM Cologne Major 2026
After three grueling Swiss stages, which featured many upsets, including top contender NAVI’s elimination, we still weren’t prepared for what transpired in the Playoffs Stage. Due to the outcomes of Stage 3, one side of the bracket was absolutely stacked, while the other was seen as an easy route for FURIA.

FURIA took charge of their side of the bracket, reverse-sweeping underdogs 9z Team, and making quick work of Aurora Gaming with a clean 2-0 sweep.
On the other side of the bracket, Team Falcons, now led by Finn “karrigan” Andersen, went up against favorites Team Vitality. In an absolute slugfest with all maps going the distance, Team Falcons came out on top, eliminating the defending Major champions.
Team Falcons faced Team Spirit in the Semifinals, and again, it was a brutal affair that went the distance. After three close maps, two of which went to overtime, it was Team Falcons who came out on top in a narrow 2-1 win.
In the BO5 Grand Final, Team Falcons was an unstoppable force. The superteam didn’t give FURIA a chance on the server, winning the first three maps in a row, all with 13-8 scores, to close out the series 3-0.
Congratulations go to Team Falcons for winning the IEM Cologne Major 2026 and lifting the greatest trophy in Counter-Strike. Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov was named the MVP, and more importantly, the greatest rifler in history, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, after well over a decade of play, finally won his first Major!
