The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) 2026, leading up to the Paris Major, is in full swing, with the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Open 5 finishing up over Easter weekend. Here’s what fans must know, including how the champion came out on top and the final standings.
Five Fears wins RLCS 2026 SSA Open 5
After attending the Boston Major, it was Five Fears, featuring two South African players, who came out on top of Open 4, and now, Open 5 as well, solidifying their dominance in the local scene.
Dozens of teams fought tooth and nail through the nearly stages of competition. After all, the prize pool of $32,100 (roughly R540,000) and a heap of RLCS points were beckoning. Eventually, we had our final eight teams in the Playoffs Stage, where Five Fears showed absolute dominance.
Five Fears smashed another strong team, Brocrocros, with a 4-0 scoreline, and proceeded to beat ROUNDS with a 4-2 scoreline, a team that managed to claw their way through the Lower Bracket. In the Grand Final of RLCS 2026 SSA Open 5, Five Fears showed no mercy against Pioneers, beating them 4-0 to win the tournament in style.
