PGL Wallachia Season 7 results
In the Group Stage, it was the favorites, Team Spirit and Team Liquid, who topped the pack with 3-0 scores. Six others survived to compete in the double-elimination Playoffs Stage, for their share of the $1 million prize pool. That’s roughly R16.9 million at the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate.
In front of a crowd at the PGL Studios venue in Bucharest, Romania, it was Team Yandex who ran through the competition, delivering some thrilling matches along the way.
In the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs, Team Yandex first took out Aurora Gaming in a 2-1 slugfest, then beat Team Liquid 2-0, and BetBoom Team with another 2-0 to reach the Grand Final of PGL Wallachia Season 7.
Team Liquid kicked off their Playoffs Stage journey by reverse-sweeping Tundra Esports 2-1, before losing to Team Yandex in the next round. In the Lower Bracket, Team Liquid found their form, beating HEROIC 2-0, Team Spirit 2-1, and BetBoom Team 2-1 for a spot in the Grand Final.
Unfortunately for Team Liquid, it was Team Yandex who were simply too good in the best-of-five Grand Final. Team Yandex closed out the Grand Final with a 3-2 score to lift the PGL Wallachia Season 7 trophy, after a fifth game that ran for nearly an hour. Well done!
