FURIA beats Vitality to win IEM Chengdu 2025

With $1,250,000 on the line at IEM Chengdu 2025, sparks flew right from the start, with top teams such as G2 Esports and Team Spirit failing to get to the Playoffs Stage. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R21.6 million.

In the single-elimination bracket Playoffs Stage, Team Vitality overcame a strong showing from Astralis to win 2-1 in the Quarterfinals, and beat MOUZ 2-1 in the Semifinals to earn a spot in the Grand Final.

On the other side of the bracket, FURIA took down The MongolZ with a clean 2-0, and impressed by taking down Team Falcons with another 2-0 to earn a spot in the Grand Final.

In the third-place decider match, Team Falcons defeated MOUZ 2-1, earning a podium finish that felt a bit disappointing for the superteam. In the best-of-five Grand Final of IEM Chengdu 2025, FURIA stunned the favorites, Team Vitality, with incredible precision and strong individual plays.

FURIA got off to a strong start to win Ancient 13-11, then Inferno 13-10, and finally Overpass 13-11 to secure a 3-0 victory over Team Vitality to lift the IEM Chengdu 2025 trophy.

Congratulations to FURIA for their dominating performance at IEM Chengdu 2025 to lift their third top-tier LAN trophy of the year. Young AWPer Danil “molodoy” Golubenko was named the MVP for his outstanding performance throughout.
