The big, beautiful, top-tier Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports events just keep on coming. This weekend, the PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 tournament begins, offering several days of non-stop action for fans to consume. Here’s what you need to know so you don’t miss out.
PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 event details
At the PGL Studios venue in Bucharest, Romania, 16 CS2 esports teams will compete for their share of the huge $1.25 million prize pool, the same as that of a Major Championship. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R21.7 million.
The tournament begins this Sunday, on 26 October, and will run until 1 November. It all starts with a 16-team Swiss System Format, where all matches are best-of-three. The top eight teams advance to the Playoffs Stage, and the bottom eight teams are eliminated.
The Playoffs Stage features a single-elimination bracket, where Quarterfinals and Semifinals matches are best-of-three, and the Grand Final is best-of-five.
