ACGL shares seasonal recap, and what’s next

It’s been a joy reporting on all the fantastic tournaments and initiatives by South African tournament organizer African Cyber Gaming League (ACGL), which continue to grow each year, showing no signs of slowing down.

In 2025 so far, ACGL introduced seasons to their platform, and Season 01 and Season 02, alongside the African Gaming Championship (AGC), were a massive success. Weekly tournaments, giveaways, an ever-improving website system for hundreds of features, and LAN events aplenty are just the highlights.

More Seasonal Play to come at ACGL

ACGL recently provided fans with a little seasonal recap on their website and teased what comes next, explaining how gamers can look forward to more seasonal play next year. Check out the quote below:

Seasons were a brand-new addition to the ACGL Calendar this year, introduced to bring more structure and consistency to our events. We were really happy with the positive impact this has had on the community – allowing MGO’s more confidence in picking up teams in various titles across the board, while providing players the assurance of regular events and prize pools in their favourite games. Structure and consistency are two of the goals we have been striving towards here at ACGL. We feel these ideals are key to unlocking even more growth for Sub-Saharan African Esports, and are the best way to continue to support our community! It was from this, that the idea of Seasons was born. We believe Seasons have laid a strong foundation from which we can keep expanding Sub-Saharan African esports, and are excited to build on this momentum.

Alongside the recap, ACGL has also shared some website improvements, including Home Page Customisation. Further, weekly cups have been reworked, now boasting more game modes and more titles for local gamers to compete in.

Clearly, it’s an exciting time for all esports fans in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, as ACGL continues to deliver, with more seasons and a lot more action yet to come in the future.

Don’t forget that you can keep up to date with all ACGL tournaments and announcements by following them on Twitter and Facebook and joining their Discord server. In fact, just check out all of ACGL’s most important links and follow along!
