In The International 2025’s Swiss Stage, favorites such as Team Spirit fell, and defending champions Team Liquid got eliminated early on. From 11 to 14 September, the Playoffs Stage of The International 2025 took place, as the final eight Dota 2 teams competed for their share of the massive $2,700,159 prize pool. Here’s what went down!

Team Falcons flew through the competition in the Upper Bracket, beating Team Tidebound 2-0, and reverse-sweeping both BetBoom Team and PARIVISION to make it to the Grand Final.

On the other side of the bracket, Chinese powerhouse Xtreme Gaming beat Tundra Esports 2-0 before falling to PARIVISION. Xtreme Gaming went on a huge Lower Bracket run, eliminating Nigma Galaxy 2-0, BetBoom Team 2-0, and taking revenge on PARIVISION with a 2-1 reverse sweep to earn a spot in the Grand Final.
In the best-of-five Grand Final of The International 2025, Xtreme Gaming won the first game, and Team Falcons responded. However, Xtreme Gaming pulled ahead 2-1 to put themselves on match point. Team Falcons stood firm, showing their big-match temperament as they won the next two games to close out the Grand Final with a 3-2 score, and thereby, became the champions of The International 2025.
Team Falcons lifted the Aegis of Champions and claimed the first-place prize of $1,147,540. Congratulations! Xtreme Gaming limps away with $351,061 in prize money, and their offlane, Lin “Xxs” Jing, was the MVP of the event in our opinion.
