OWCS Midseason Championship results & final standings
The Overwatch Championship Series (OWCS) Midseason Championship event took place as part of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 mega-event from 31 July to 3 August, entertaining fans as the best 16 teams competed for a massive prize pool and the glory of lifting the championship trophy.
At the Qiddiya Arena, Boulevard Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia, 16 teams competed for $1 million, equivalent to approximately R18 million at the current exchange rate.
In the Group Stage, Team Falcons and Virtus.pro made it out of Group A, while Crazy Raccoon and Team Liquid survived Group B. Al Qadsiah and Geekay Esports topped Group C, and T1 and Twisted Minds made it through Group D to earn spots in the Playoffs Stage.
In the Playoffs of the OWCS Midseason Championship, Al Qadsiah got off to a dominating start, beating Virtus.pro 3-0, and then narrowly made it past Twisted Minds with a nailbiting 3-2 win to make it to the Grand Final.
On the other side of the bracket, it was Team Falcons who took charge, making a comeback to beat Geekay Esports 3-2, and then beat T1 3-1 in the Semifinals. In the Grand Final, Team Falcons took no prisoners, beating Al Qadsiah 4-0 to become the champions!
Team Falcons’ Kim “Proper” Dong-hyun won the Sony Tournament MVP in style for his brilliant performance throughout the event, which included an extra $10,000 prize for the player.
