South Africans competing at the EA FC 25 EWC event

It’s always awesome to see South African gamers competing against the best in the world, especially on a massive international stage such as the Esports World Cup 2025 mega-event. I am, therefore, excited to report that there are three South African players competing in the EA FC 25 event, with two in the Last Chance Qualifier, and one who has already secured a spot in the Play-Ins stage.

First up it’s Kaylan “Kaylan” Moodley, who is currently playing for an international organization, All Gamers Global. Kaylan is already in the Play-In stage, and will compete on 3 August 2025 for his share of a $248,000 prize pool and one of four spots at the FC Pro 25 World Championship. 48 players in total will compete!

Next up, it’s Goliath Gaming’s Zaid April and Hamza Moosa. They will fight tooth and nail from 31 July to 2 August 2025, for their share of $252,000 and one of five spots in the Play-Ins stage. They are all in Saudi Arabia, competing in the Last Chance Qualifier, which features a whopping 512 players.

You can catch all the action via the EA SPORTS FC Pro YouTube channel or the EA SPORTS FC Twitch channel. We want to wish all the South African gamers competing the best of luck, and we hope to see them make it through to the next stage of competition!

Stay tuned at Esports Central as we’ll bring you a complete viewer’s guide and coverage of the FC Pro 25 World Championship, and much more from the Esports World Cup.
