PUBG Mobile gets local servers and awesome African content

Attention, PUBG Mobile players! This is a big one, a really big one, in fact! The developers have listened, and PUBG Mobile now has local servers in Africa. That’s a huge move, and something that will greatly improve the gameplay experience of millions. The news comes shortly after the PUBG Mobile Africa Cup 2025, which is currently ongoing, and leads to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship PMGC). Lastly, we’ve also got some details on African-themed cosmetic items to share, so let’s leap in.

PUBG Mobile’s New Servers

Brand new, beautiful servers have been unleashed for South Africa and Nigeria, according to the Press Release I’ve received, and I have it on good authority that there are also PUBG Mobile servers in Kenya. These servers will drastically improve the latency of players, resulting in high-quality gameplay for millions of African users.

The head of PUBG Mobile Africa, Brian Gu, explained:

“We understand that stable, smooth gameplay is critical for competitive players and always prioritize the needs of our African community. To continuously optimize your experience, we’ve introduced a Server Node Selection feature based on diverse African player needs. Through a dedicated matchmaking interface, you can choose whether you want to compete within Africa or challenge global players rapidly, with a one-tap solution that delivers a faster, more stable connection – because you deserve millisecond-precise responsiveness.”

It’s a huge investment in the African server infrastructure, and indicates the developer’s commitment to long-term regional growth. The developer also noted that looking ahead, they are focused on “enabling seamless cross-border matchmaking between players in our vast African community.”

That’s incredible news already, worthy of praise and excitement from the entire community…but that’s not all.
