Your LoL esports guide to MSI 2025
After the exciting First Stand event and regional Split 2 qualifications, it’s time for League of Legends (LoL) esports fans to feast on all the Mid-Season Invitational action. Let’s dive straight in and discuss the essential details of MSI 2025!
MSI 2025 event details
At the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada, the best League of Legends teams will compete from 27 June to 12 July 2025. There’s one spot at LoL Worlds on the line at MSI 2025, as well as a massively increased prize pool of $2 million. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s over R36 million!
There are six teams who directly qualified for the Bracket Stage, and another four who will compete at the Play-In Stage for just two spots in the Bracket Stage. First of all, check out the Play-In Stage teams and matchups below.
- G2 Esports vs. FURIA
- Bilibili Gaming vs. GAM Esports
The four teams are competing in a GSL-style group, where all matches are best-of-five, and the top two will go through to the Bracket Stage.
The MSI 2025 Bracket Stage takes place from 1 to 12 July 2025, featuring eight teams, where all matches are best-of-five. This is a double-elimination bracket format. Check out the teams who directly qualified for the Bracket Stage below.
- Gen.G – LCK (Korea) 1st Seed
- T1 – LCK (Korea) 2nd Seed (LCK’s 2nd seed qualifies directly to Bracket Stage due to their region winning the 2025 First Stand Tournament)
- Movistar KOI – LEC (Europe) 1st Seed
- Anyone’s Legend – LPL (China) 1st Seed
- CTBC Flying Oyster – LCP (Asia-Pacific) 1st Seed
- FlyQuest – LTA (Americas) 1st Seed (LTA North Split 2 Champion)
