With the dust still settling over ESL Pro League Season 21, another big Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports event is about to begin. We are, of course, talking about the BLAST Open Season 1 LAN event, kicking off in Lisbon, Portugal, on Wednesday, 19 March 2025. Let’s take a look at the essential details so you don’t miss out.
Important BLAST Open Season 1 details
First up, the BLAST Open Season 1 event features two stages of competition: the Group Stage and the Playoffs Stage. The event runs from 19 to 30 March 2025. First is the Group Stage (19 to 24 March) featuring two double-elimination format (GSL-style) groups with eight teams each. All matches are BO3. The Group Stage takes place at the BLAST Studio venue in Copenhagen, Denmark.
From 28 to 30 March 2025, the six teams who survive the Group Stage will compete in the Playoffs. It’s a single-elimination bracket affair, with Quarterfinal and Semifinal matches being BO3, and the Grand Final being BO5.
There are 16 teams competing for their share of the $400,000 prize pool. As reported by NLG, teams also get a participation fee based on their standings. Check out the details below.
