RLCS 2025 SSA Open 3 viewer’s guide
The road to the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) Birmingham Major is almost complete. With only one event, the RLCS 2025 Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Open 3 left, only two teams have a real chance of earning that one spot in the Birmingham Major.
The first one, and the one I am cheering for, is Limitless, a team filled with South African players who have finished 2nd in both Open 1 and Open 2. Then, we also have the favorites, Spanish side Maestros Del Esférico, who’ve all but secured the coveted spot. Let’s dive in and check out the most important details from the RLCS 2025 SSA Open 3 tournament.
RLCS 2025 SSA Open 3 details
Don’t miss out on the RLCS 2025 SSA Open 3 event, which starts off this Friday, 21 February 2025. The event runs until 2 March 2025, when a champion will be crowned. The best teams in the region are competing for their share of the $24,900 prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R460,000.
The action begins with a Double Elimination bracket on 22 February, where all matches are best-of-three, with the top 24 teams advancing to the Swiss Stage. The top eight teams per group in the Swiss Stage will advance to the Group Stage, which takes place on 28 February 2025. In the Group Stage, the 16 remaining teams are split into two GSL-Style format groups of eight teams each, with all matches being BO5.
The top four teams from each group advance to the Playoffs Stage, which takes place on 1 and 2 March 2025, and features a Final Hour system with best-of-seven matches.
