South African Fortnite servers reportedly being tested
This is not a drill; local Fortnite servers are finally a real possibility for South African gamers, and we couldn’t be more excited to share the news! While this news should still be considered a rumor, it comes from a credible leaker called HYPEX, who mines information to bring Fortnite fans the latest details.
Recently, HYPEX, on his X account, tweeted that new Fortnite servers are being tested and specifically listed the following three countries and cities:
- South Africa (Capetown)
- Mexico (Mexico City)
- Indonesia (Jakatara)
Fortnite servers located in South Africa could make the job of tournament organizers such as ACGL, Mettlestate, and Elite Pro Series easier. However, the biggest winners are the players, who will finally be able to enjoy low latency. The addition of Fortnite servers in Cape Town should also solve slow matchmaking queues for players across most of Africa. Now, that’s what I call a good deal!
At the time of writing, it is unclear when Epic Games will release the South African Fortnite servers. It could be weeks or months. There’s simply no additional information available or any type of ETA. The only thing we know for sure is that the developer is testing Fortnite servers in Cape Town, and that’s exciting
