IEM Rio 2024 info
IEM Rio 2024 is hosted by ESL and runs from 7 to 13 October 2024. Teams are competing in Brazil for their share of the $250,000 prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R4.3 million.
The Group Stage features two double-elimination format GSL-style groups with eight teams each, where all matches are best-of-three. The top three teams from each group advance to the Playoffs Stage, with placement based on their performance in the Group Stage. Check out the teams and opening matches for IEM Rio 2024 below.

IEM Rio 2024’s playoffs feature a single-elimination bracket format with all matches being BO3, except for the grand final, which is BO5.
The playoffs will be held at the Farmasi Arena venue in Rio de Janeiro, but you probably won’t be able to travel there. Don’t worry! You can watch all the CS2 esports action from IEM Rio 2024 by tuning in to the official ESL_CSGO Twitch channel. We can’t wait to learn who comes out on top, as this event is stacked with the best teams in the world and one of the last before the RMR events for the Shanghai Major begin.
