Attention, Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans! In case you didn’t see the recent announcement, we’ve got some exciting news to share. The BLAST.tv Austin Major has been announced, and it is the first confirmed CS2 Major Championship of 2025. Here’s what we know so far.
BLAST Austin Major details
So, what do we know so far, exactly? While not all the details have been revealed, we know the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 will take place in Austin, Texas, at the Moody Center. The event doesn’t have precise dates just yet, but it will take place in June 2025.

Austin is the perfect place to showcase the esports industry and the technology at the heart of the competition. We look forward to welcoming teams and fans from all across the globe to Austin.”
Teams that qualify for the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 will compete for their share of the $1,250,000 prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R22.7 million. The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is expected to be the biggest ever esports event in the US.
According to BLAST.tv, they expect 50,000 fans, millions tuning in to watch the action live, broadcasted in 28 languages across 150 or more territories. That’s massive, just like the forecasted $40 million economic investment for the city of Austin, Texas.
