s1mple to compete at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown!
Attention, Counter-Strike esports fans. We’ve got some very exciting news to share if you are a fan of the GOAT of CS, the 26-year-old Ukrainian superstar Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev! You will be able to see s1mple compete at the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown from 6 to 10 March 2024.
s1mple’s first CS2 event
The BLAST Premier Spring Showdown is an online event played on European servers. It is also s1mple’s first Counter-Strike 2 event, as the GOAT took a step back from CS last year and is currently sitting on the Na’Vi bench.
But wait…Na’Vi isn’t on the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown list…right? Well, s1mple will compete as a stand-in for Team Falcons in the team’s attempt to reach the Spring Final.
Na’Vi explained: “Legendary NAVI player Oleksandr «s1mple» Kostyliev will temporarily suspend his inactive status for an upcoming tournament. Oleksandr will perform for Team Falcons for one month as a stand-in, including at BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024, and try to help the team earn one of two slots at BLAST Spring Final.”
s1mple thanked Na’Vi for the swift response and opportunity to compete with Team Falcons. The GOAT also plans to return to competitive play officially following the Copenhagen Major. Will he reprise his role at Na’Vi? We aren’t so sure yet, and neither is anyone else.
Even so, we will see s1mple at the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024, and we wish him all the best of luck. Stay tuned as we will bring you a full viewer’s guide to the event with all the essential details.
