ESL Pro League Season 17 Viewer’s Guide

If you are a fan of top-tier CS:GO esports, then you definitely shouldn’t miss out on the ESL Pro League Season 17 event starting up this week. For South African esports fans in particular, it is important to note that ATK Arena’s CS:GO squad will be competing in the main event of ESL Pro League Season 17 as they managed to qualify. Here’s what you need to know.

ESL Pro League Season 17 details

ESL Pro League Season 17 is a LAN event taking place in Malta. It features 32 CS:GO esports teams from across the globe and a prize pool of $850,000. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R15.4 million.

The main event of the tournament starts with the group stage on Wednesday, 22 Febuary 2023. ESL Pro League Season 17 runs until 26 March 2023, when a champion will be crowned. The group stage features four single round-robin groups of eight teams each, where all matches are best-of-three.

The first-place teams advance to the Quarterfinals of ESL Pro League Season 17, while the 2nd-place teams advance to the Round of 12 in the playoffs as the High Seeds. The third-placed teams in each group advance to the Round of 16 as the High Seeds, while the 4th-placed teams advance to the Round of 16 as the Low Seeds. The rest are eliminated.
