ESL Pro League Season 16 results and highlights
Throughout September and the first weekend of October, we saw the world’s best CS:GO esports teams compete for their share of the $835,000 prize pool at ESL Pro League Season 16. Here’s what went down during the playoffs and the grand finals.
ESL Pro League Season 16 highlights
During the group stage, 24 teams were whittled down to 12, with Team Vitality, Cloud9, MOUZ, and G2 Esports leading their respective groups. In the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 16, the North American side Team Liquid managed to pull off some upsets, surprising fans.

Team Liquid eliminated Fnatic with a 2-1 victory, an impressive 2-0 over MOUZ, and a powerful showing against Cloud9 with a 2-1 win to make it to the grand finals.
On the other side of the bracket, Team Vitality 2-0’ed Outsiders after two close maps. Vitality beat a solid G2 Esports side with a 2-0 win to make it to the grand final.
The grand final of ESL Pro League Season 16 was a marathon. Team Liquid took the first map, Inferno, with a 16-7 win, and Vitality responded in kind, winning the second map, Dust II, 16-7.
The third map, Mirage, went into triple overtime before Team Liquid managed to clench victory with a 25-21 win. However, this close call didn’t break team Vitality. Instead, the squad thought back, and ZywOo came to life again and again.
On the back of the “Chosen One”, Team Vitality and ZywOo simply couldn’t be denied, going into overtime on the fourth map, Mirage, and claiming it with a 19-17 score.
With the grand final tied up with two maps to each side, ZywOo topped the leaderboard with 25 kills on Vertigo, as Vitality claimed victory with a 16-11 scoreline.
For their win, Team Vitality gets $200,000 and invites to IEM Katowice 2023 and the BLAST Premier World Final, while Team Liquid gets $85,000 for their efforts.
