37 CS:GO coaches banned for use of spectator bug
Early in September, it came to light that some CS:GO coaches for professional teams used a spectator bug in tournaments, allegedly gaining an advantage over other teams. Valve even issued a statement after Faruk “pita†Pita and Allan “Rejin†Petersen first admitted to using the bug.
Now, the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has completed the first part of their investigation and banned 37 coaches for using the bug.
37 CS:GO coaches banned by ESIC
The ESIC laid down bans on 37 coaches for a variety of time periods, depending on the severity of their findings. This report, alongside coaches being banned from ESL and more, has rocked the CS:GO esports world.
The ESIC revealed a list of coaches who have been found guilty. These coaches can appeal to the ESIC if they believe their bans are unwarranted.
ESIC explains how the investigation is far from over:
“ESIC announces sanctions against 37 individuals in relation to the exploitation of the Spectator Bug. Only 20% of the available data (99,650 demos) has been examined. ESIC to issue one final report at the end of October to close the investigation.”
