As one of the last tournaments before the Major Championship invites go out, all eyes were on the Thunderpick World Championship (TWC) 2026, which took place live on LAN in Attard, Malta, in front of a crowd at the BLAST Arena Studios venue.

The tournament was held from 14 to 18 October 2026, and we watched as eight teams fought for glory and a huge $1 million prize pool. That’s approximately R16.4 million! Here’s how things went down.

TWC 2026 LAN Finals Highlights & Report

Sparks flew as some of the best Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports teams clashed in the GSL-style Group Stage, where the field of eight were whittled down to just four.

Watch the video featuring some choice highlights of the event below, or continue reading what happened, or both if you have some time to spare.

The karrigan-led superteam, Team Falcons, soared in Group A, claiming the top spot, while Aurora Gaming placed 2nd to qualify for the Playoffs Stage. 9z Team and NIP were eliminated. In Group B, defending champions FURIA took charge with a 2-0 record, while underdogs BetBoom Team came in second. Both Legacy and PARIVISION were eliminated.

The Playoffs Stage of the TWC 2026 LAN Finals featured a single-elimination bracket with the four remaining teams.

The first Semifinal saw FURIA smash the new-look Aurora Gaming roster with a convincing 2-0 win to move on to the Grand Final.

On the other side of the bracket, BetBoom Team caused the upset of the tournament, beating favorites Team Falcons with a shocking 2-1 reverse-sweep comeback.

In the Third-Place Decider match, Team Falcons again tasted the bitterness of losing to a reverse-sweep comeback, this time at the hands of Aurora Gaming.

In the best-of-five Grand Final, it was FURIA who drew first blood with a strong 13-6 win on Dust2. BetBoom Team bounced back to win Ancient 19-16 after a double-overtime affair.

BetBoom Team then extended their lead to 2-1 in the series by besting FURIA in convincing fashion on Nuke with a 13-9 scoreline. Just one loss away from elimination, FURIA powered up. FalleN led his squad to a close 13-11 win on Mirage, and a 13-6 win on Cache to secure a 3-2 victory.

Congratulations go out to FURIA for defending their title and securing the trophy. Brazilian rifler KSCERATO was named the MVP for his insane performance in Malta.
