WePlay AniMajor: Final DPC Major of 2021 announced
Tournament organizer WePlay esports has announced the final Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Major leading to The International 10. Here’s what Dota 2 esports fans need to know about the upcoming Major announcement, and when they can tune into the action.
WePlay AniMajor details
The WePlay AniMajor tournament will be played at the WePlay Esports Arena in Kyiv, Ukraine. All 18 teams will be in attendance. However, no spectators will be present due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The WePlay AniMajor runs from 2 to 13 June 2021.
Just like the Dota 2 Singapore Major, the WePlay AniMajor will feature a tonne of DPC points, as well as a prize pool of $500,000. With 2,700 DPC points up for grabs, the winner is basically guaranteed a spot at The International 10.
At the time of writing, the teams for the WePlay AniMajor have not all been confirmed. This is because most of the six DPC regions will see their final matches take place today, 21 May 2021.
The distribution of the 18 slots will be as follows:
- EU: Top 4
- China: Top 4
- SEA: Top 3
- CIS: Top 3
- NA: Top 2
- SA: Top 2
There will be a Wild Card stage, followed by a group stage, and finally, a double-elimination playoffs stage, with the grand final scheduled to take place on 13 June at 19:00 SAST. You will be able to catch all the action on the official WePlay Twitch channel.
Next week, well before the WePlay AniMajor begins, we will be sure to bring you a full viewer’s guide, from the exact schedule to the teams participating, and more.
