DreamLeague Season 20 viewer’s guide
Following the dominating performance by Gaimin Gladiators in the 2023 Majors and the DPC season ending soon, there’s another big Dota 2 esports event for fans to look forward to. Yes, we are talking about DreamLeague Season 20, so here are all the most important details so you don’t miss out.
DreamLeague Season 20 details
Organized by ESL, the DreamLeague Season 20 tournament features a huge $1 million prize pool. At the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate, that’s roughly R19.7 million. The top two teams will also get direct invites to the upcoming Riyadh Masters 2023. The event runs from 11 to 25 June 2023, so there’s a lot of Dota 2 esports action ahead.
DreamLeague Season 20 features a unique tournament format with two group stages. The first group stage features two groups of eight teams in a single round-robin format where all matches are BO2. The top four teams from each group advance to Group Stage 2, while the rest are eliminated.
Group Stage 2 features one group of eight teams with a single round-robin format. All matches here are BO3, with the top two teams making their way to the upper bracket of the playoffs, while the 3rd and 4th place teams go to the lower bracket of the playoffs. The bottom four teams are eliminated.
In the playoffs, we will see a double-elimination bracket, with all matches being BO3, except the Grand Final, which is a BO5 affair.
