Valve nerfs M4A1-S and improves Ancient in new CS:GO update

It’s been a very long time since we saw Valve really make any noticeable balance changes in CS:GO. As an esports title that has been out for nearly a decade, the developer doesn’t really make balance changes anymore, until now. Here’s what you need to know about the recently-released update.

New CS:GO update patch notes

Let’s get straight to the point. Valve has nerfed the M4A1-S, reducing the gun’s magazine size to 20 bullets, with 80 in reserve. This has seen some mixed reception from the CS:GO community but from what we can gather, it is more positive than negative.

The update also sees changes to Ancient. The map has only been part of the Active Duty Map Pool for CS:GO esports tournaments for the past year or so, making it the newest addition. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that there are still some improvements and fixes to be made.
